Saying Goodbye to Charlie Watts, Rolling Stones drummer

Saying Goodbye to Charlie Watts, Rolling Stones drummer

We’re saying Goodbye to Charlie Watts, Rolling Stones drummer. Charlie Watts, the drummer of the legendary UK band Rolling Stones, passed away earlier this week at the age of 80. The drummer, who has been playing with the band for many decades, remains an enduring influence in the world of rock music and beyond, providing a solid rhythmic backbone to one of the most influential acts of his generation.

Although it’s sad to be saying goodbye to Charlie Watts, he was known for his contribution to the rock genre, he had a life-long passion for jazz, which actually influenced his restrained, yet articulate sound. Watts’ drumming brought groove to the Rolling Stones’ music, something that wasn’t particularly common to experience in rock bands before Mick Jaggers & co. hit the scene!

He went on to play on 30 albums with the Stones, as well as touring the world several times over with the band. Quite humble about his legacy, Watts previously joked on the state of his career, describing it as “four decades of seeing Mick’s bum running around in front of me.”
